UPM and the District entered into formal negotiations on December 13, 2019. Since then, UPM and District’s bargaining teams have met regularly.
To date, UPM and the District have Tentative Agreements (TAs) on Articles 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 17, 21, and 24.
At present, UPM and the District are actively discussing Article 7 (Evaluations).
In September of 2019, UPM and the District exchanged their initial proposals outlining which Articles of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) each planned to open for negotiations.
UPM proposed opening eight articles total (Article 3: Wages, Article 4: Fringe Benefits, Article 5: Leaves, Article 6: Transfers and Assignments, Article 7: Evaluations, Article 8: Workload, Article 10: Class Size, and Article 24: Professional Standards). These articles were selected based on data provided by UPM members in response to the Collective Bargaining Survey sent out in mid-August of 2019.
The District proposed opening twelve articles total (Article 1: Recognition, Article 2: Payroll Deductions, Article 3: Wages, Article 4: Fringe Benefits, Article 5: Leaves, Article 6: Transfers and Assignments, Article 7: Evaluations, Article 8: Workload, Article 17: Academic Freedom, Article 21: Representation/Service Fee, Article 23: Term, and Article 24: Professional Standards).
