UPM will hold an end-of-semester celebration to culminate the hard work of another academic year and the success of our newly tenured faculty on
Friday, May 26th, 3-5 PM at the Redwood Grove/BBQ area between SMN and Fine Arts buildings.
We know that we are all busy on week days, with classes to teach and meetings to attend, so we will be gathering on campus, from 2:00-2:30 on the lawn next to student services.
Wear red to show solidarity with public education and immigrant students and look spiffy for our photo shoot.
Bring signs (we will have extras) showing your support for educational justice for all students, solidarity with our immigrant students and other students from historically underrepresented backgrounds in higher education, and slogans like "Build Schools, Not Walls!" or other phrases that support our students.
Pose with fellow faculty members for a picture we can include in our newsletter, website, & social media.
Of course, it's May Day, so by standing up with AFT around the country, we are also showing solidarity with workers everywhere.
In March 2016, CCTV surveillance cameras were installed and activated on the campus of College of Marin. After one year, a Surveilance MOU was signed by United Professors of Marin and the Marin Community College District on March 6, 2017

Beware of Direct Dealing!
UPM is THE bargaining agent for its members (See highlighted sections below), so if the District and/or unit members circumvent the established bargaining procedure, they are violating the contract, as well as PERB and EERA (See 14.4).
